Butcher Babies – They’re Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!

Check out this bitchin’ new slasher film inspired take on the classic campy song for Napoleon XIV back in 1966. It’s darker, sexier, and has that edge that makes you want more.

Butcher Babies are going to take you away…

This track is coming off Butcher Babies 5-track EP of cover songs ‘Uncovered’. Each member of the band selected a song and Shepherd picked this classic.

“My pick was ‘They’re Coming to Take Me Away’ by Napoleon XIV because I have a vivid memory of my stepdad, who I considered completely insane, playing it over and over again on his car stereo when I was a pre-teen,” Shepherd says. “The song is about being taken away to a mental institution. I can still see him tapping his fingers on his steering wheel to the beat…”

The band will be rocking out at Knotfest this weekend in San Bernardino, California. After Christmas they hit the road again, touring with Black Label Society and Hatebreed.

Butcher Babies are an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California. Frontwomen Heidi Shepherd and Carla Harvey, guitarist Henry Flury (Amen), bassist Jason Klein and drummer Chase Brickenden make up the band.

2017 Update — Be on the look out for their newest album Butcher Babies Lilith coming out soon. They’re already got a video and the full album is due out soon.
